A website that loads fast, gets found, and never goes stale on you

Design, build and ongoing management of a small business website — fast, mobile-first, built to be found locally, and kept current every month.

The problem this solves

Your website was built once, a few years ago, by someone you can no longer reach. The hours are wrong, it is slow on a phone, and changing a price means emailing a person who takes a week to reply. So nothing gets changed. It sits there technically online, quietly losing you the customers who looked, hesitated, and called somebody else instead.

What you get

  • A fast site — pages that load in about a second on a phone, on mobile data, not just on your office wifi
  • Pages built around what your customers actually search for, rather than a template’s idea of your industry
  • The local search essentials done properly: structured data, consistent business details, Google Business Profile set up
  • Copy written from a real conversation with you, not filled in from an industry boilerplate
  • Ongoing management, so it never becomes a stale site nobody can update again

What you can count on

  • Built as static pages — fast by default, and no plugin to be hacked through at 3am
  • You own the domain and the hosting account outright; I work inside yours
  • Every change is shown to you on a preview URL before it goes anywhere near the live site

Then $200 a month to actually run it

The build is the easy part. What goes wrong afterwards is that nobody maintains it — six months later it is out of date, quietly broken, or nobody remembers how to change it.

The monthly fee is what stops that happening. It is not a support contract you hope never to use; it is the part where the thing keeps getting better.

  • Hosting, SSL, backups and uptime monitoring
  • Content and price changes when you need them
  • Security and dependency updates
  • A monthly note on what changed and what the traffic did
  • No minimum term. Cancel any time and you keep everything that was built.

How it works

  1. Listen

An hour on what your customers ask before they buy, and which inquiries you actually want more of. That conversation decides the page structure — not a template.

  2. Build

Mobile first, because that is where your customers are. Every page has one job and one obvious next step. You see it on a real URL early and often, not as a mockup at the end.

  3. Launch properly

Search Console verified, sitemap submitted, Google Business Profile connected, analytics in place. Launching without these is how a site sits invisible for six months.

  4. Manage

Monthly from then on: updates, monitoring, backups, and the changes you ask for. Your site stops being a thing you have to remember to maintain.

Websites — questions I get asked

Do I own the website, or am I renting it?

You own it. The domain is registered to you, the hosting account is in your name, and the site itself is yours. If you stop the retainer, the site keeps working and you keep everything — I hand over access and it carries on. A site you have to keep paying for or lose is a hostage, not an asset, and I do not build those.

Why not just use Wix or Squarespace?

Honestly? For a lot of businesses those are fine, and if you are happy editing your own site on one, keep it. They stop making sense when speed matters, when you want to rank locally against competitors who are trying, or when the real problem is that nobody has time to update it. The management side is what most people are actually buying here — not the pixels.

How long until it ranks on Google?

A new site typically takes three to six months to settle into local results, and anyone promising faster is guessing. What moves fastest is your Google Business Profile, which can show up within weeks — so that gets set up at launch rather than treated as an afterthought. The site is the part that compounds; the profile is the part that works quickly.

What happens if I want to change something small?

You email or text and it gets done — that is what the retainer is for. New prices, updated hours, a photo, a paragraph. There is no ticket system and no per-change fee for the ordinary things, because a site nobody can update quickly is exactly the problem I am solving.
